5 Fashion Editors Styled The Same Men's Shirt And Here Are The Results

Look number 4 is WOW.

With Menswear Fashion Week coming to a close in our hometown of Paris, we challenged our editors to style a men’s dress shirt to prove that guys' clothes are not exclusive to the opposite sex. From on-tend corset belt details, to a classic Canadian tuxedo look, here’s how the WTG team styled it. And if you wake up feeling uninspired by your own closet, don't be afraid to raid that of a boyfriend, a brother, even good old dad, and experiment with your own dress shirt.

I’m a big fan of corset belts so when my mom gave me hers from the '80s, I couldn’t wait to rock it. Here, I threw it over the oversized men's shirt to give some shape to the look. I then added knee-high boots with leather and suede leggings to add even more edge.

I combined the menswear shirt with vintage, high-waisted GAP jeans and statement booties with pink heels recently bought from Zara. I really like the outfit because it's casual and trendy at the same time. A men's dress shirt paired with a pair of jeans is pretty standard-issue, so I added my own personal flair with the boots.

I love oversized menswear shirts, you can live your entire life in them. I’ll go to sleep in one and then, the next morning, tuck it into a high-waisted pant with a red lip and head to the office. If I were to go out after work, I’d do what I did today: swap the pant for a nude pencil skirt, wrap the shirt around me in a kind of straight jacket-y way, cinch it at the waist and pull the collar back to create a boatneck effect.

I saw this double shirt styling trick on Front Row Shop a few months ago and it immediately leapt to mind when we were set this challenge: I love how the romantic lace contrasts against the stark, banker-blue shirt but compliments its structure with a button-down fastening.

When I saw this oversized men's dress shirt, the first image that came to mind was: stylish Korean drama office girl. To make the shirt more fitted to my body, I simply tied it around my waist, obi-bow style. Given the casual vibe oversized pieces give off, I decided to add some polished elements to the mix: green plaid pants, a beret and for some added structure: dangling hexagon earrings.
