See you on the beach.

With new releases this year from nearly all of our favorite artists including Lana Del ReyLorde, HAIM and Ed Sheeran, it’s no wonder why everyone seems so hyped about the music scene right now. With the sun beaming down, there’s no better way to enjoy music than at a festival. Coachella may have come and gone, but there are still endless opportunities to get out in the open and dance the weekend away around the globe.

While the U.K.’s world-famous Glastonbury festival is set to open its doors in just under two weeks, the annual photo albums of mud-covered festival-goers isn’t exactly what we had in mind for this year. We’ve got our sights set on the coastlines of Europe to really make the most of our vacation, filled with sun, sea and music.

The lineup of parties on the beach goes on and on, but with everything from techno DJs at Calvi on the Rocks in Croatia and laid-back reggae at Mandrea on Italy’s Lake Garda to hip hop and dance on the shores of Spain for Sonar and big-name acts at Portugal’s Nos Alive festival, it can be difficult to decide what to wear. Sure, the weather going to be roughly similar (read: idyllic blue skies and waters), but the atmosphere at each is unique.

Every genre of music is synonymous with its own style tribe, so we’ve compiled some outfits to inspire your festival look depending on who’s playing:

dreamy acoustic pop

You’ll want to wear something as light and sweet as the sounds coming from the stage when you’re listening to dreamy acoustic pop, so lighten up the color palette and be sure to add at least one layer that will float in the breeze as you sway to the beat.
1) Zara Embroidered Kimono $100 2) H&M Bustier - $15 3) Topshop MOTO floral Painted Ashley Shorts - $65 4) River Island Silver Lace-Up Flatform Sneakers - $76

big pop tunes

If you’re lucky enough to catch one of the major acts doing the festival circuit this year, make sure you out-shine them in an outfit that will rival whatever phenomenal getup they perform in. But keep it practical in some comfy sliders – 12-inch heels aren’t ideal on sand.
1) Black Seven Never Ending Summer Swimsuit - $43 2) H&M Sunglasses - $7 3) Fujifilm Instax Mini 8 Instant Film Camera - $70 3) Mango Sequin Skirt - $60 4) Topshop Harmony PU Knot Sliders - $32

late night drum'n'bass

When the music is only just beginning at 10pm, you know you’re in for a late one. You’re going to want to be wearing something comfortable that allows your to move and sweat, plus a light layer for when the sun has well and truly gone to bed.
1) Calvin Klein Bralette Modern Cotton - £30 2) Zara Mech Crochet Knit Sweater - $60 3) Topshop Cropped Wide Leg Joggers - $45 4) Veja V-10 Leather White Grey - €120

Is there any genre with a more established uniform than rock? Pile on the blacks, reds and khakis, make sure you have a pair of DGAF shades on at all times (even indoors, at nighttime) and invest in a pair of leather shoes that you can properly stomp in.

1) T.Y.S.M - Black Mint Sunglasses by QUAY x DESI - $80 2) Topshop Paisley Print Fabric Choker Necklace - $15 3) H&M Padded Bomber Jacket - $50 4) River Island Plus Black Band Print Lace-Up T-Shirt - $52 5) Dr Marten's Women's 1460 Smooth - $135

For indie-lovers, sweet and simple outfits are absolutely the way forward: they serve as a canvas for you to rock a tee, tote or pin with your favorite band’s logo on it. The more obscure the better – the only people you want to recognize your merch are actual fans
1) Topshop 'Lover' Motif T-Shirt - $26 2) Side Party Denim Dress With Fray Detail - $70 3) The XX Outline X Black Tote Bag - €17 4) Mango Contrast Applique Sneakers - $60

Ironic '00s Throwback

We all love the Spice Girls. There’s no need to be ashamed about going to a festival to spend your time solely in the ironic disco tents. Luckily for you, ‘00s style is making a major comeback. Maybe you’ll even bump into three or four other people wearing coordinating outfits and you can form your own dance troupe.
1) Classy Adios T-Shirt - $38 2) Topshop Oriental Jacquard Cap - $22 3) Elvi Foil Wide Leg Trousers - $49 4) Puma Suede Classic Women's Sneakers - $65

Chill-out tunes

If your plan for the weekend is to laze around in the sun like a lizard with a cocktail firmly in hand, within earshot of the music but not necessarily dabbing by the front of the stage, then short shorts and a crochet halter will ensure you max out on the U.V. while keeping up with the festival vibe. Just remember to wear sunscreen
1) Mango Crochet Top - $40 2) Eye Love Gold Aviator Sunglasses - $65 3) Nasty Gal WANT Alice Fanny Pack - $20 4) Topshop MOTO Frey Hem Kiri Shorts - $52 5) Public Desire Arella Lace Up Stacked Flatform Sandals - $45
