Here Are 5 Ways You Can Style The Weeknd x H&M For Women

The season's hottest collab doesn't have to be for boys only.

The Weeknd has had quite a year. Over the past 12 months, The Weeknd (otherwise known by his real name, Abel Tesfaye) collaborated with both Kanye West and Beyoncé, released his third studio album, Starboy, and is now launching Spring Icons, a brand new clothing line for H&M.

Intended to strike the perfect balance between sharp and casual, Spring Icons is a mixture of classic pieces like tailored shirts and blazers, with an urban, streetwear twist, think hoodies and bomber jackets. The concept comes from the idea of staple pieces becoming iconic pieces. Like a white tee and blue jeans, this collection comprises basics that have become statements in their own right. With the bomber jacket as the focal point, it includes a leather biker jacket, cut-off jeans, shirts and sweaters.

With the collection landing in stores today, March 2nd, we couldn't be more excited for the drop – but not because we're shopping for our boyfriends or brothers, we're looking to get some pieces from The Weeknd x H&M collection for ourselves. Sure, it is technically a men's collection, but if Fashion Week has taught us anything, it's that women can rock menswear (and vice versa) just as well.

So for all those initially irked that The Weeknd has created a line intended just for men, we're here to show you how a lot of the coolest pieces in his collection can be worn by women, too. This is the era of androgynous fashion and we're so into it.

Check out a list of our fave pieces from The Weeknd's H&M collection along with a few tips on how to work them into a women's wardrobe:

Ideal for transitioning into spring, this lightweight, black coat is a classic look. Oversized womenswear is making a comeback and there's no time like the present to embrace a trend. Stay warm in the coming months with this simple long, black layer, along with a pair of tailored trousers, jeans or leggings, and a flashy pair of sneakers to add a casual touch. For those not totally sold on the whole boxy '80s look yet, this design comes with a belt that you can cinch in at the waist to give you some shape.
Double-Breasted Coat - $80

Loose, "boyfriend"-style leather jackets are always a good idea, and this one designed by The Weeknd is particularly appealing (we can't get enough of those zippers). Given the slightly boxy nature of the jacket, we recommend balancing it out with something tailored on the bottom. A pair of dark-wash denim skinnies would do the trick. Add a simple graphic tee underneath, your coolest pair of aviator sunnies, a cute heeled ankle bootie and you've got the perfect cool-girl, weekend look.
Biker Jacket - $70

We can't get enough of this white shirt. On the surface it's a simple button-down, but we love the on-trend details like the Mandarin collar and black "XO" patch. Suitable for work or play, this design is closet-staple material. If you're heading to the office, tuck it into a pencil skirt and add a pair of vibrant pumps. Alternatively, pair it with some frayed jeans for a more chilled-out style. For an even more unique look, leave the bottom buttons undone and tie it into a crop top, or save it for summer and wear it as a lightweight layer over a bodycon midi dress.

Henley Shirt Regular Fit - $25

You know what a boyfriend jean is, so why not skip the boyfriend part and buy this rad pair of cut-off, light-wash jeans for yourself. They're straight out of an episode of Friends circa 1995, and the slightly shorter, looser fit is perfect for styling with a pair of gladiator sandals (Coachella is just around the corner) and a ribbed crop top.
Slim Regular Cropped Jeans - $40

This simple tee looks unbelievably soft and cozy, and we can't wait to get our hands on it. To get the perfect cool and casual look, we suggest tucking it into a pair of high-waisted mom jeans and a pair of brightly colored mules. You've got yourself the ultimate spring ensemble.
Cotton Piqué T-Shirt - $15

It's possible you've got loads of bomber jackets in your closet by now, and if got your hands on this one before it sold out (in every color) then lucky you! We love the off-beat shade, those chunky zips and that soft baseball collar. It would look great with everything from a black maxi to a cute sundress, or tailored trousers to ripped jeans.
