The Alternative To Sock Boots You've Been Looking For

Think cushy.

The sock boots trend became huge when Balenciaga debuted their fall 2017 Ready-to-Wear collection. But who has time to perfect their strut in a pair of ankle-risking sock boots with spindly kitten/stiletto heels? That's why we're loving the proliferation of sock sneakers with sturdy rubber soles to give your feet a sleek finish in comfort and style.

Vetements just released a preview of their version of this hot hybrid footwear in collaboration with Reebok which features a striped collar on the sock of each sneaker and right and left branding. Bella Hadid was seen sporting a DKNY platform version in a bone hue paired with distressed white denim and a simple white tank, making her outfit anything but conventional. Kaia Gerber was also donning a black and white version of this futuristic footwear while wearing high-waisted cut-offs and an on-trend newsboy cap.

At first these kicks might just seem like another pair of ugly sneakers. But they're actually much more streamlined and versatile for your wardrobe than you think. You could absolutely do an athletic day-wear ensemble, but why not mix them in with a leather, trench or cozy coat for an ultra-modern look? Match with this season's plaid suit or over-sized jacket and A-line skirt for a creative office environment or easy commuter style. Give the night a run for its money by pairing your foot gear with a leather mini dress for a revised cocktail look to (comfortably) dance the night away. A bonus for these cushy soles? They are the perfect matching accessory for you and your guy for that sporty power couple look.

We're convinced this fresh footwear needs to be in your closet. Choose your favorite and give your feet a much needed break:
