Forget What You Know: This Is What A Virgo's Closet Looks Like

It's girl-boss season.

Virgos, AKA the lady bosses of the Zodiac, are back in season. Coming in on the heels of the dazzling, once-in-a-lifetime solar eclipse, Virgos were done viewing the totality before it even started, because have you seen their to-do list? They're prepping to whip us back into shape after the last lazy days of summer, and we are here for it.

Represented by what's supposedly a virginal woman (but actually looks more like a Prince symbol), Virgos are typically thought of as prudish, stuck-up, controlling perfectionists — to which they might say, "IDGAF." It is an often misunderstood astrological sign. But our over-achieving, Mercury-ruled sisters are actually problem-solvers who won't stop striving until they find the correct answer for each individual dilemma. They aren't so much perfectionists as they are precisionists (see: any Beyoncé concert ever). And don't forget that Virgos are also earth signs, meaning they are adaptable and help ground those around them.

When it comes to style, Virgos employ a scientific approach. While flightier signs might waffle for hours between which shoes go with which outfit (we're looking at you, Libras), Virgos can quickly and confidently tell you what silhouettes, colors, fabrics and cuts work best on their body.

Virgos like their fashion how they like their house: clean, clean, clean. The key to capturing the Virgo attitude is keeping your cuts meticulous, your colors simple yet striking and your proportions balanced. The classic silhouette and defined lines of a crisp white button-down tucked into flared pinstripe pants and a block-colored block heel are most fitting for this structured goddess.

Neutrals are among this sign's favorite hues, as an understated approach is very much in Virgo's wheelhouse. But this star sign can also show a wilder side in a corseted mini dress or a bold monochrome, metallic or animal-print body or jumpsuit. Whatever the ensemble, nothing says Virgo more than an outfit envisioned and constructed with mathematical precision. Think of it as feng shui, only instead of decorating your house, you're styling your closet with intention and purpose.
