These Are The CFDA Red Carpet Looks Everyone Is Talking About

And how you can get them too.

share with your friends
Anyone who knows their fashion calendar off by heart knows that after the Met Gala comes the CFDA Fashion Awards. Each June, the Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) hosts its annual event honoring designers, journalists, style icons and those who contribute to the American fashion industry.

This year the biggest winner of the night was Raf Simons, who took home the Designer of the Year Award for both the menswear and womenswear category for his debut collection at Calvin Klein – making him the second person in the history to win both titles in one year. Incidentally, the only other person to have achieved the same accolades is the fonder of the brand Simons now works for, Calvin Klein.

Other honorees included Pat McGrath, one of the most influential people in the makeup industry, and Demna Gvasalia was given the International Award for his work at Vetements and Balenciaga

And, of course, no star-studded ceremony would be complete without show-stopping red carpet looks. The CFDA Fashion Awards has always been a great place to spot a unique mix of models and celebs, who are invited for being muses and inspirations of the designers. With the spotlights on, you can expect there to be more than one rule-breaking fashion statement – and while this year there was no Rihanna in a barely-there dress, or Lady Gaga in a spiked thong, there was no shortage of style to be seen.

Pink was the stand-out color, with looks ranging from Bella Hadid's vibrant, hot-pink blazer dress from Off-White, to Brit Marling's dusty rose, silk satin Sies Marjan design. Supermodel Alek Wek graced the carpet in a Belenciaga bow gown inspired by a look from the house's archive, while model Imaan Hammam nailed the denim look in an Adam Selman jumpsuit.

While we saw a handful of prints (including the sheer, floral Coach number rocked by Hari Nef), it was the head-to-toe white outfits that screamed elegance and sophistication. Adriana Lima styled her plunge-neck, Urban Zen jumpsuit with a coordinating clutch and nail polish that contrasted with her slicked-back, dark hair, while Hailey Baldwin accessorized her cut-out Cushnie et Ochs dress with a furry clutch and feathered shoes. But, for us, it was Gigi Hadid who ruled the red carpet in her chic, lustre look by The Row that gave her the wow-factor.
