This Year, Go For Coachella Gear You Can Wear IRL

Because flower crowns are so yesteryear.

For a few days out of the year, Coachella cuts us a break. We get to indulge in the non-routine routine of rolling out of bed mid-day, and adopting a food pyramid made up entirely of vegan pizza, artisan iced coffee and treats from companies with names like “Egg Slut.” And as we roll around the grass in our '90s-raver-meets-Florence-Welch getups, we have but one wish in our hearts: that the haven of our little IRL dessert terrarium go on forever.

Spoiler: it won’t, and PFD (post-festival depression) can be brutal. The return to reality is made all the more difficult when you have to trade in your flower crown and macramé onesie for a blazer and a pantsuit come Monday morning. But what if you were able to weave your Coachella garb into your day-to-day wardrobe? What if the two worlds could converge? We decided it was time to put together festival looks with clothes that have a shelf-life of more than three-days – and Topshop came to our rescue.

The British brand has always been a champ at giving us trendy but timeless pieces, and we're confident they'll help us make the jump from concert tent to daily grind. Wear a pair of overalls with a ribbed tank or crop-top in Palm Springs, and, once the festivities have ended, you'll be able swap out the latter for a pussybow blouse with a structured blazer. Invest in a bubblegum pink bomber to layer over your board shorts and bathing-suit top as you groove into the evening at the Do LaB, and wear the jacket out on the regular with a monochrome outfit or a pair of dark-wash jeans and a turtleneck.

Not so into the whole Laurel Canyon vibe that everyone goes bananas for in the Valley? Go for a head-to-toe metallic look with pieces that, when worn with your regular clothes, will add a welcome touch of shine and texture. If you're looking for something low-key, why not go for a back-to-school cool look via some white kicks, a denim pinafore dress and a pink hoodie to keep you warm once the sun sets? Finally, we love the idea of rocking some distressed, rhinestone embellished pieces with a '70s-esque t-shirt – it's another great take on the throwback Californian vibe, and one you can wear time-and-again even after the festival is over.
