Paris Street Style: A Swedish Stylist's Spring Fling

Jacquemus channels its spirit through this Stockholm stylist.

Every week, we take to the streets of Paris to photograph and chat with the women and men whose sartorial instincts we’d love to steal. Meet the people who are turning the Parisian sidewalks into runways – and find out everything you need to get their look.

Paris was basking in a dreamy midsummer afternoon (in early March, nonetheless) the day we spotted Hilda on the sun-soaked Rue des Archives. We were immediately taken with her mélange of polished menswear basics with subtle, feminine details – take note of that tan blazer over a lacy blouse – and loved the comfy-casual pieces peeking out in the ensemble. And that belt rekindled our belief in the outfit-transforming properties of a clinched waist. Read on for this golden girl's story and find out how she's translating the coolest FW17 runways trends into her spring outfit.

What is your name and where are you from?
My name is Hilda Sandström and I'm from Stockholm, Sweden. I work as a freelance stylist and am currently assisting the stylist Robert Rydberg.

Why did you choose to wear this outfit today?
I just flew in to Paris from Stockholm so I wore my most comfy jeans and hoodie... then I switched from my sneakers to heels when I arrived.

How would you describe your personal style?
I've been in love with oversized clothing for a long time. At the moment, I'm all about emphasizing the waist to contrast with my looser silhouettes. So oversized with some type of form – and always comfortable, of course.

Are you wearing any pieces or accessories that are of special significance or that carry a story behind it?
I'm wearing this new pair of earrings that the very sweet model Frida Gustavsson designed in collaboration with Andeliusgribbe. It's part of a project to help underprivileged girls in India to create a better future for themselves.

Where did you get your outfit?
The blazer and belt are vintage, the hoodie is from The Local Firm, the blouse are shoes are both from H&M Studio, the jeans are Levis, the bag is from Adax and the earrings are a mix-and-match of Frida x Andeliusgribbe, Emilie H Jewelry and Jane Konig.

What fashion trend are you most excited to try this spring?
Like I said before, I love the mix between volume and a clinched waist as well as the Jacquemus SS17 collection, which is all about these defined, geometric shapes. I want to go for that look this spring!
