5 Looks To Steal From The Oscars Red Carpet

It was a night to remember.

Awards season is officially over and it certainly ended with a bang.

La La Land was the favorite of the night, earning the Queen of Old Hollywood glamor, Emma Stone, an Academy Award for Best Actress, and Best Director and Best Original Music Score for the crew. Despite the films' achievements in cinematography and directing, it awkwardly failed to garner a win for Best Picture – even after Warren Beatty announced that it had after an unfortunate envelope mix-up, it turned out that Moonlight had been selected to take home the biggest prize of the night.

Other hijinks of the night included Jimmy Kimmel unleashing mini parachutes full of candy from the theatre's ceiling and the hilarity that ensued over his faux-rivalry with Matt Damon.

On a more serious note, political activism was a key theme of the evening: whether made in the form of acceptance speeches or fashion accessories, Hollywood clearly relayed their stance on President Trump's policies, in particular their opposition towards his immigration ban and his decision to cut funding to Planned Parenthood. Emma Stone and Dakota Johnson accessorized with Planned Parenthood pins, while Ruth Negga, Karlie Kloss, Lin Manuel Miranda and others secured blue ACLU ribbons to their ensembles.

Despite the evening's rather peculiar ending, it was the start of the night that was the most exciting for us. This year's red carpet was filled with classic, elegant dresses. The major hues of the night were gold and scarlet, with the carpet continuing to see funky accents in luxe styles such as velvet, embroidery, fringe and satin – complete with capes.

From Hailee Steinfeld looking like an ethereal goddess to Ruth Negga channelling Victorian royalty, check out 5 looks to steal from the Oscars red carpet:
