Holiday Gift Guide: Time To Treat Yourself

Because you deserve it.

It's Holiday season. That means you're looking for (and probably stressing over) what to buy for your loved ones, whether you're shopping for your cousin or for your cat. That's where we come in  — leave it to the Wheretoget editors to do the hunting for you. Consider this series your online destination for finding the perfect present, because throughout the month, we will be publishing curated guides to help you find exactly what you need so that no one in your entourage is overlooked.

It’s already been a long month, and it’s not even over yet! On top of your usual schedule you’ve probably been inundated with party invites and present buying, plus your family’s over (or about to be!), which can be an ordeal in itself. So we say it’s time to take a moment to treat yourself – and why not? You’re already going shopping in every spare moment, so why not pick up a present for the most special person in your life, you.

Now, there’s a big difference when you’re buying a gift for yourself rather than just casually shopping. A gift has got to be special, something thoughtful that the receiver will be excited to unwrap and take pleasure in experiencing, which puts you in a good position as the giver: nobody knows you better than yourself!

At the top of our list, naturally, is all those glittery goodies you shy away from because of their cost-per-wear rating, but that no one could really resist. This season, throw caution to the wind and blow your budget on a fabulous party frock and wait for the compliments to come pouring in at the office Christmas party.

Or treat yourself to some you time, by investing in a set of Egyptian cotton bedsheets and a luxurious bath time set, complete with Jo Malone candle, and spend the first few weeks of 2017 pretending you live in a  5-star hotel. Polish off your new lavish, relaxing lifestyle with a hardback art book to further enrich you.

But the best way to truly indulge yourself is to invest in refined products that you use every day, thus improving your overall quality of life. Try starting with a simple cashmere scarf or a sturdy new handbag for work. A decent pair of headphones will change your life, and you can’t go wrong with a designer phone case
