5 Essential Styles French Bloggers Are Wearing Right Now

Très chic.

share with your friends
As much as we love the quintessential French styles of ballet flats and Breton stripes, fashion is way too much fun to always stick to the classics. But you can still get that Parisian-chic look without having to go for the full beret. We took at look at some of the French bloggers who are shaking up the style scene and dictating what to wear everywhere from the Rue de Rivoli to the Riviera this season. Though French-girl style can vary vastly, there are some trends that we're seeing everyone trying out this spring.

Check out the top 5 trends that French fashionistas are wearing this spring:

Ruffles

This is one of the trends that you’ll be seeing everywhere this season, and for good reason: it’s a super easy way to take a basic piece up a notch. Try a ruffled top with a simple pair of jeans and sandals for a chic-casual look, or take a page from Denni’s book and grab a dress with a ruffled embellishment for your next big night out.

Lace

No longer a fabric associated with grandmas, lace is the perfect counterpoint to a rough denim or military jacket. It's especially effective if you seek out unique designs that aren't traditionally in the fabric, like Charlene's sun-here-I-come bomber. It’s the perfect transitional texture, and will never fail to make you feel a little more ladylike. Wear your lace under jackets or peeking out the hem of a sweater to really emulate blogger style until it’s warm enough to wear on its own.

Milennial Pink

If you’ve cast a glance anywhere near a fashion blogger’s Instagram or simply the Zara website, you’ll know that light, neutral hues are huge this spring. Lily’s ethereal combo of pink, nude and white shades could run on the prissy side, but she keeps it down-to-earth with classic silhouettes, like skinny jeans and a well-fitting jacket. Look for classic styles in these colors to keep it fresh.

Statement jackets

For those who are following the goings-on at Coachella, you will know that everyone and their mother has some kind of statement jacket for spring, be it an embroidered denim or a floral blazer. Anoushka keeps hers bright and sporty with white sneakers and a crop top, but the jacket alone would be a perfect piece to spice up a simple black dress when you need to impress.

Chunky Mid-heels

We’re pretty sure everyone’s feet breathed a sigh of relief when the chunky heel came back into style – finally, a way to keep some height and manage to remain upright throughout the evening. Something about adding a bit of a heel makes your whole outfit seem like you put a bit more thought into it, don't you think? The blocky mid-heel in particular is a life-saver, and it comes in every shape of shoe from sandals to pumps, to the cutesy style we call Mary Janes and the French call “babies”. Coralie pairs hers with everything from super-girly dresses to jeans and blouses.
