Add A Glamorous Finish To Any Outfit With A Faux Fur Scarf

Nothing beats the alternative.

It's undeniably scarf season and there's nothing to make you feel more like a wintry princess than a faux fur scarf. Wrapping yourself up in a luxuriously long length of softness is as appealing as cozying up to a fire with a cup of coco. And while we all love the look and feel of fur, we can't get on board with what making it actually entails, so enter: faux alternative that give us all of the glamour with none of the animal cruelty.

Recently, the faux fur industry has gained even more of the attention it deserves as Gucci announced huge news that they would go fur-free in 2018. Following the lead of Armani in 2016, Gucci will auction off all of their remaining animal fur items and donate the proceeds to the Humane Society International and LAV. Gucci will also become part of the Fur Free Alliance which helps campaign for alternative materials in fashion.

If getting the stamp of approval from a high power fashion house doesn't convince you to make the switch, perhaps the new variety of brilliant shades will. Even fabulously fluffy pieces have been following in the footsteps of this year's deluge of bright hues. Designer Charlotte Simone popularized the rainbow-coloured tube scarf, and now we're seeing this must-have accessory in several striped color combinations like vivid pink and red and eye-popping orange and blue. We're also loving the new-season designs that tuck into themselves to secure them without any awkward knotting.

While it's true that you can top anything with a scarf (even pajamas), the texture of this accessory in particular definitely kicks up the sophistication of any ensemble. Heighten the drama of your day with a super luxe leopard print over a bright orange peacoat or a multi-colored number with a black, cropped leather jacket. Have a classic Hollywood-inspired date night with a rich, chocolate brown faux fur complementing your favorite LBD. Go all-out for an evening soiree with an extra long, hot pink scarf over a floor-length, red satin dress. Whatever style you choose, we're certain you'll appreciate the fabulous, cruelty-free finish it'll add to your outfit.
