Moviegoers and critics alike are raving about Wonder Woman’s fierce return to the big screen. And it’s not just because of Gal Godot’s spot-on portrayal of the uncompromising Diana Prince — it’s also because of all the badass costuming. We don’t know about you, but watching a battlefield full of glorious Amazonian warrior women serving a beat down while clad in metal body suits and lavish gold headwear... well, it kinda brought a tear to our eye.

Wonder Woman’s costume designer, Lindy Hemming, is the brains behind a vast array of looks in the film. She recently talked with Schön Magazine about her goal when tackling the legendary wardrobe of this fierce heroine. “I had license to design everything about the Amazons and my feeling was to make them believably wear armour but, at the same time, look fantastically fit, strong and sexy.”

In a conversation with Flickering Myth, Hemming goes on to describe the freedom she had in designing not only Prince’s signature red, blue and gold outfit, but pieces like her striking electric blue ball gown or smart, button-down period dress, “it’s a great thing for a costume designer to do. It’s a lovely story, a lovely arc and something you almost never get to do [...] A girl’s story allows you to have a bit more fun with the costumes…”
As for what the stunning and talented Gadot says, “I think as a feminist, you should be able to wear whatever you like!” Watching her charge into enemy fire while deflecting bullets with her fabulous gold cuffs, and leaping into tall buildings as high as her gladiator boots, we give that sentiment an enthusiastic, “hell yea, girl.”

The color scheme for your Wonder Woman-inspired ensemble is already set for you in blues, reds and metallics. When you're on duty, it's got to be a bodysuit for kicking ass – accessorized with no shortage of gunmetal bling, including the obligatory headpiece – and for those chilled moments in-between battle scenes, reference the greats (of which you are one) with a billowing dress that flaps about you like you've just flown in from saving the world and are ready to have your statue carved.
