These Are The Sneaker Brands French Girls Swear By

Walk like a French girl.

We love sneakers because they're comfortable and versatile. If you work in a formal office environment, sneakers can be too casual, but you can pull them off with lots of styles from a weekend look with jeans to an afterparty with a dress. When completing an ensemble, sneakers get the job done. And while stocking up the classics à la Stan Smiths and Vans slippers, we're still keeping an eye out for what's new.

This spring, the new sneaker trends include pastel colors, ribbons and bows. But if you want to stand out among a crowd of Adidas and Nikes, look no further than the feet of the French for inspiration. We've assembled a list of five French sneaker brands that will help you attain that French-girl je ne sais quoi, even if it's just by lacing up your kicks to head to the grocery store.

Le Coq Sportif

This sportswear brand was founded in 1882 and has an iconic logo inspired by the Gallic rooster, the national symbol of France. The brand is a French equivalent to Adidas and Nike but with a more simple, sporty-luxe flair.

KWOTS

Capitalizing on the trend of street style meets streetwear, KWOTS shoes add an element of tongue-in-cheek fun to premium-leather sneakers. Their signature wide straps at the heel of each sneaker feature matching words or graphics, and while we adore the pair paying homage to the brand's hometown of Paris, we've got the one that reads "Bad/Girl" on our wish list.
