4 Trends From LFW SS18 That We Can't Wait To Wear Immediately

Feathers and fur all the way.

While some cities have a fairly loose definition of what a week is when it comes to Fashion Week (we're looking at you, New York), London's sartorial scheduling barely constitutes a long weekend, and as such it tends to go by in the blink of an eye.

Just because it’s the shortest stop-off doesn’t mean it doesn’t pack a punch: London is home to some of the most renowned fashion schools in the world, so there's an extra vibrancy and energy surrounding the events in the British capital. This year the color palettes were saturated, the textures super smooth and the designs daring.

There were some key trends, however, that we don’t need to wait until the next sartorial season to style. We’ve picked out our top four tropes from London’s SS18 shows that you can start wearing straight away.

Check out our 4 favorite trends from LFW that you can incorporate into your closet immediately:

ladies in lilac

While the growing craze for blindingly bright shades of tennis-ball green may be genuinely hard to ignore, it’s not the only hue to have caught designers’ attention this season. Shades of soft lilac have appeared across the schedule, from Victoria Beckham’s no-nonsense approach in crisp cottons, to Erdem's floaty fairytale dresses with simple floral embroidery to turn up the romance and Emporio Armani’s ultra-girly pieces that glimmer in the light.

shake your tail feathers

There’s no better way to add a talking point to your look than with a statement feather trim – whether you’re attending a society ball or commuting to work. We are especially big fans of the pastel plumes we’ve been seeing up and down the runway this season.

furry footwear

Despite the anti-fur protests taking place outside many of the London Fashion Week shows, we were pleased to see that designers were not put off from using faux fur to create kooky designs. In particular we love the fuzzy footwear that has taken the summer’s furry pool slide trend a step further.

mixed messages

Usually a mixed print is Diane von Furstenberg’s speciality, but this season we saw several designers offering their own iterations on the style. This is the perfect solution for anyone wishing to take a plunge and try a power-clashing outfit, but who isn’t sure where to start. Pair your multi-patterned piece with plain accessories to let it shine through.
