Louis Vuitton’s creative director Nicholas Ghesquière caused something of a sensation when he posted a picture on his Instagram of him modelling an iPhone case designed to look like one of the fashion house’s iconic travel trunks.
Currently the only phone accessory available from Louis Vuitton is a rather sophisticated monogrammed leather folio (you know it’s fancy when it’s called a folio), but with the cult success of Jeremy Scott’s novelty designs for Moschino – including a Mock-Donalds fries packet and the label’s teddy bear mascot – we’ve seen several other major designers get in on the trend.
We’ve got our fingers crossed that the glimpse we saw on Instagram marks the first foray into the world of novelty tech accessories from one of our favorite fashion houses.
While we wait for the Louis Vuitton phone case to become available, here are 14 alternatives from designers who got there first. We are particular fans of Stella McCartney's super-sized shark, and we'd love to get our hands on one of Dolce & Gabbana's decadent designs, but we don't quite have $700 to spend on a cover (even if it is embellished with crystals).
