overalls

Most of us can remember with fondness days spent in the summer sun in our favorite pair of battered and worn dungarees, in which we played outdoors all day. Now that we are older, we can still indulge our inner child with a pair of overalls—though perhaps a little more form-fitting than the ones we scampered about in. First worn in the early 20th century by farmers and railroad workers, parents soon saw the value in denim overalls and bought them for their children. Nowadays we find overalls in all materials and colors and style them up to look cute with t-shirts, grunge with boots or vintage with a polka dot blouse underneath and a dash of red lipstick.
